Scout Trails Docs

Trends

The Trends tab shows agent activity, cost, outlier sessions and top tools over a window, with a choice of chart resolution. Open Trends in the header. The subtitle reads “Activity, cost, outliers, and top tools across a longer window.”

Filters

The filter bar has Window, Granularity and Scope. Window and Scope work as described in Dashboard basics.

Granularity sets how much time each bar in the Activity chart covers. The choices depend on the window, and the dropdown updates as soon as you change Window:

WindowGranularity optionsDefault
30d1d1d
7d1d, 6h6h
24h1h, 30m1h
12h1h, 30m30m
3h15m, 5m15m
1h15m, 5m5m

Select Apply to load the page. Reset returns to 30d, 1d and Whole organization.

Activity

A bar chart of tool calls over the window, one bar per granularity step. The card header shows the window and granularity, for example 7d · 6h. The rightmost bar is the period in progress. Hover over a bar to see its start date (and UTC time, for bars shorter than a day) and its tool-call count. With no tool calls in the window, the chart shows No activity in this window.

Cost

Totals for every model call in the window:

FieldMeaning
Total costSum of the cost of every model call.
LLM callsNumber of model calls.
Input tokensInput tokens not served from the prompt cache.
Output tokensTokens the models generated.
Cache read tokensInput tokens served from the prompt cache.
Cache creation tokensTokens written to the prompt cache.

Only agents that report model calls contribute, such as Claude Code. Codex CLI doesn’t report model calls. When there are none in the window, the card shows No model calls in this window. with a Try 30 days button.

Outlier sessions

Sessions with unusually many tool calls. A session is an outlier when its tool-call count in the window is above the 95th percentile of tool-call counts for all sessions in the window and selected scope. The threshold adjusts to your own activity, so there is no fixed number. Up to ten outliers are listed, busiest first.

ColumnMeaning
SessionThe session label. Select it to open the session.
ActorThe actor’s display name.
AgentThe agent’s name.
CallsTool calls in the window.
ErrorsOf those, the calls that ran and failed.
DurationTime between the session’s first and last tool call in the window.
Last seenTime of the session’s most recent tool call, in UTC.

With little activity nothing stands out, and the card shows No outlier sessions in this window. with a See all sessions button.

Top tools

The 15 most-called tools in the window, busiest first.

ColumnMeaning
ToolThe tool’s name. Select it to open Tool calls filtered to that tool, in the same scope, over the default 30d window.
TypeThe tool’s type, for example builtin or mcp.
CallsNumber of calls in the window.
ShareA bar showing this tool’s portion of the calls listed in the table.
ErrorsCalls that ran and failed. Denied calls are not errors.
Avg durationMean duration of the calls that ran, leaving out denied calls. — when no call of the tool ran.

With no tool calls in the window, the card shows No tool usage in this window. with a Try 30 days button.
